Identifying Your Teaching Style
Directions: Each of the following statements describes a teaching behavior or activity. For each statement, select the one option that sounds more like how you approach teaching.
1. When planning instruction for my students:
2. When establishing learning goals for my class: I determine the learning objectives and then guide students through the steps needed to achieve them. I determine the learning objectives but also involve students in identifying needs and shaping how those goals will be pursued.
3. In my classroom: I guide students in identifying problems and goals while providing structure to help them move toward solutions. I encourage students to define their own problems, work at their own pace, and help determine how their learning will be evaluated.
